We are a small practice in Hyderabad and work on conservation projects and on sustainable new build structures using eco-friendly and traditional materials in the vicinity of heritage sites. In addition, we work with craftsmen and interact with them to incorporate traditional craft forms in our design. Our research also includes the history, architectural and engineering systems of the Deccan region. Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Junior Architect with 1-2 years’ experience with an interest in conservation. The architect must be willing to work on all aspects mentioned above and will be involved in designing new build structures and interventions on existing historic buildings and be competent in 3D Visualisation. The architect will be expected to perform all phases of architectural work including planning, designing, and overseeing the construction. There will be a probation of 3 months, following which and upon mutually acceptable conditions, the architect would be expected to be in the practice for a minimum of 2 years. ResponsibilitiesWork on the initial design stageDevelop the design as part of the team and in accordance with the budget and project requirements, detailed architectural documentation, modelling and 3D Visualization Produce the architectural package of all relevant drawings and compile specifications.Regular site visits (some sites will be in rural areas and you must be willing to travel) to ensure work is in accordance with the BoQs, and to a high quality, within budget and time. Follow architectural trends and advancements.Requirements and skillsProven working experience as an ArchitectStrong portfolio to prove artistic skillsExpert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standardsExcellent drawing skills and familiarity with design software – AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ or similar 3D modelling and Visualization software.Strong imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensionsVisual awareness and an eye for detailStay up to date with latest trends and best practices
