About the Role
D ATTPL EMS Private Limited is looking for a responsible and security-focused Microsoft 365 & Network Security Engineer to help protect company identities, endpoints, email, documents, cloud applications and network resources.
The selected candidate will configure, monitor and maintain the security capabilities available under Microsoft 365 Business Premium and support the company’s alignment with applicable data-protection and information-security requirements, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, GDPR principles and HIPAA security practices where relevant.
This is a hands-on implementation and monitoring role. The candidate must be able to work remotely while following strict confidentiality, access-control and information-security policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and secure the Microsoft 365 Business Premium environment.
- Configure Microsoft Entra ID P1 identity and access controls.
- Implement multifactor authentication and Conditional Access policies.
- Block legacy authentication and review suspicious sign-in activity.
- Apply least-privilege access and role-based access control.
- Enrol and manage Windows, Android, iOS and macOS devices through Microsoft Intune.
- Configure device compliance, configuration and application-protection policies.
- Manage Microsoft Defender for Business endpoint protection.
- Configure antivirus, firewall, attack-surface reduction and endpoint security policies.
- Monitor security alerts, incidents, device risks and remediation status.
- Configure Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 protections against phishing, malware, spoofing and unsafe links or attachments.
- Configure Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels and supported Data Loss Prevention policies.
- Protect company information stored in Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams.
- Control external sharing, guest access, download and data-transfer permissions.
- Assist with BitLocker encryption, recovery-key management and secure device configuration.
- Maintain security baselines for company-issued and authorised remote-working devices.
- Review user accounts, admin roles, license assignments and access permissions.
- Support secure employee onboarding, role changes and offboarding.
- Maintain network-security controls for office and remote users, including firewall, VPN, DNS security and Wi-Fi security.
- Investigate suspicious logins, malware alerts, data-exposure events and policy violations.
- Maintain incident logs, asset inventories, access reviews and remediation records.
- Perform periodic vulnerability, access and configuration reviews.
- Prepare security SOPs, audit evidence, risk registers and compliance documentation.
- Support management in aligning technical safeguards with DPDP, GDPR and HIPAA-related requirements.
- Conduct employee security-awareness and phishing-prevention sessions.
- Coordinate with developers, HR, management and authorised third-party service providers.
Required Skills
- Minimum one year of practical experience in Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint security, network security or a related role.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
- Hands-on understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune and Conditional Access.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Business and Defender for Office 365.
- Understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams security.
- Knowledge of MFA, RBAC, least privilege and Zero Trust principles.
- Familiarity with Windows security, BitLocker, Defender Antivirus and firewall configuration.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routers, firewalls and secure Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with security-alert investigation and incident response.
- Understanding of DLP, sensitivity labels, encryption, retention and secure file sharing.
- Awareness of India’s DPDP Act, GDPR principles and HIPAA security safeguards.
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and security reports.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Networking or a related field.
- Microsoft certifications such as SC-900, MS-900, SC-300, MD-102 or equivalent.
- Experience managing remote endpoints through Microsoft Intune.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Secure Score and Microsoft security portals.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment, incident handling or compliance documentation.
Mandatory Remote-Work Requirements
- Reliable computer and internet connection.
- Ability to use only company-authorised accounts, applications and devices.
- Willingness to enrol the authorised work device in Microsoft Intune.
- Willingness to comply with MFA, Conditional Access, DLP, Defender and device-compliance policies.
- No sharing of company credentials, source code, customer data or confidential documents.
- No transfer of company information to personal email, cloud storage, USB devices or unauthorised applications.
- Availability during assigned working hours and for urgent security incidents when required.
Compensation
₹15,000–₹20,000 per month, based on practical experience, technical assessment and interview performance.
