Data Analyst - Apprentice Job Description
Position Overview
The Data Analyst Apprentice role provides an opportunity to begin a career in data analytics within a leading commercial real estate organization. This entry-level position combines on-the-job training with structured learning to develop foundational analytical skills, technical proficiency, and business acumen. The apprentice will work closely with experienced analysts and cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making across JLL's operations.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Preparation The apprentice will assist in gathering data from various sources including databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems. They will learn to clean, organize, and prepare datasets for analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency. This foundational work supports the broader analytics team in delivering reliable insights to business stakeholders.
Basic Analysis & Reporting Under supervision, the apprentice will perform descriptive statistical analysis, identify basic trends and patterns, and contribute to regular reporting processes. They will help maintain standard reports and dashboards, learning to interpret data and communicate findings clearly to team members and stakeholders.
Data Visualization Support The apprentice will assist in creating charts, graphs, and visual representations of data using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau. They will learn best practices for data visualization and support the development of dashboards that make information accessible and actionable for business users.
Documentation & Quality Assurance Maintaining clear documentation of data processes, methodologies, and report specifications is essential. The apprentice will participate in data quality checks, validate outputs, and help ensure that analytical work meets established standards and business requirements.
Continuous Learning & Development This apprenticeship combines practical experience with formal education or training programs. The apprentice will participate in structured learning activities, complete coursework or certifications, and actively develop technical and professional skills under the guidance of mentors and managers.
Required Qualifications
Education Currently pursuing or recently completed A-levels, B.Tech, or equivalent qualifications with strong performance in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related subjects. Enrollment in or eligibility for a recognized apprenticeship program in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field is required.
Basic Technical Skills Fundamental proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, basic functions, and chart creation is essential. Interest in and aptitude for learning programming languages (SQL, Python, R) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is required. Basic computer literacy and comfort with learning new software applications are expected.
Analytical Aptitude Demonstrated interest in working with numbers and data. Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot patterns and anomalies. Logical thinking and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to tasks. Curiosity about how data can inform business decisions.
Communication Skills Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain findings clearly. Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to group projects.

Learning & Development
On-the-Job Training The apprentice will receive structured training from experienced data analysts and team leaders, gaining practical experience across various analytical techniques, tools, and business applications. Regular feedback and performance reviews will support skill development and career progression.
Formal Education Participation in an accredited apprenticeship program leading to a recognized qualification (such as Level 3 or Level 4 Data Analyst certification). Coursework will cover statistics, database management, programming, data visualization, and business analytics fundamentals.
Mentorship Assignment of a dedicated mentor who will provide guidance, support career development, and help navigate professional growth within JLL. Regular check-ins and career planning discussions will ensure the apprentice stays on track toward long-term success.
Career Progression Successful completion of the apprenticeship can lead to a permanent Data Analyst role with opportunities for advancement within JLL's analytics and technology teams. The skills developed through this program provide a foundation for diverse career paths in data science, business intelligence, and analytics leadership.
