Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Executive to manage accounting and taxation assignments for a portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in accounting, GST, income tax, and statutory compliance, along with the ability to supervise junior team members and review their work to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting
- Supervise and review the bookkeeping and accounting work performed by junior team members.
- Review and finalize monthly books of accounts for clients.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and MIS reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Handle accounting assignments for clients across various industries, including:
- Information Technology (IT)
- Pharmaceuticals
- Manufacturing
- Trading
- Professional Services
- Other Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for individuals, partnership firms, LLPs, companies, trusts, and other entities.
- Prepare and file Tax Audit Reports under the Income Tax Act.
- Review tax computations and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Handle GST registrations, amendments, and cancellation procedures.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns.
- Prepare and file GST refund applications and coordinate until refunds are received.
- Prepare and file Letters of Undertaking (LUT) for exporters.
- Respond to GST notices and assist during departmental assessments whenever required.
- Stay updated with amendments in Income Tax and GST laws.
Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior accounting professionals.
- Review completed assignments before client delivery.
- Allocate work, monitor deadlines, and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Support team members in resolving technical accounting and taxation issues.
Client Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain financial information and statutory documents.
- Resolve client queries related to accounting, taxation, and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships through timely and quality service.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles and Financial Reporting.
- Thorough understanding of Income Tax and GST laws.
- Practical experience in preparing and filing Tax Audit Reports and Income Tax Returns.
- Hands-on experience in GST refunds and LUT filings.
- Ability to independently review and finalize books of accounts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments simultaneously.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines.
Software Knowledge
Candidates should have hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
- Tally Prime
- Zoho Books
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Income Tax filing software such as Genius (or similar tax compliance software)
Knowledge of Busy, QuickBooks, or other accounting software will be an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CA Final (Appeared/Dropout) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience working in a Chartered Accountancy firm will be preferred.
- Experience in independently managing multiple client engagements.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising junior staff.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working in a deadline-driven environment.
