Commissioning Engineer (HOME AUTOMATION)----- Commissioning Engineer is responsible for configuring, integrating, and testing smart devices (lighting, HVAC, security, AV) to ensure they function seamlessly according to the client’s specifications and system design.
Core Responsibilities
· System Programming & Configuration: Programming smart home hubs and controllers (e.g., Control4, Crestron, KNX, Apple Home) to execute desired scenes, schedules, and automation rules.
· Executes commissioning activities for automation systems (BMS, SCADA, PLC, IoT). Integration & Testing: Verifying communication between various subsystems to ensure lighting, audio-video, climate control, and motorized shades operate cohesively.
· Network Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues across complex wired and wireless (Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread) residential networks.
· Client Handover: Walking the homeowner through the system, calibrating preferences, and providing training on how to use control panels, keypads, and mobile apps. [1]
· Documentation: Updating "As-Built" drawings and recording system backups, network IP schemes, and configuration files.
· Ensures systems meet design specifications and client requirements.
· Acts as the bridge between design, installation, and client operation.
· Key Responsibilities
· Conduct system testing and validation (HVAC, lighting, CCTV, access control).
· Perform PLC/DDC programming and configuration.
· Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues between subsystems.
· Provide client training on operation and maintenance.
· Ensure documentation and compliance with safety standards.
· Support post-commissioning service and handover.

Technical Skill Requirements
- Networking & Protocols: Deep understanding of IP networks, routing, switches, and wireless protocols (Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth).
- Control Systems: Proficiency in industry-standard platforms like Control4, Crestron, Lutron (for lighting), or KNX.
- Electrical Basics: Ability to read electrical schematics, understand low-voltage systems, and safely work with smart relays and dimmers.
- Troubleshooting Tools: Experience with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and protocol analyzers.
