A Commis 1 (Indian Cuisine) is a junior chef who handles prep work, executes basic recipes, and assists senior chefs. Commis 1 chefs must know techniques like tandoor operations, base gravies, and authentic spice blending.
Core Responsibilities
- Prep Work: Cleaning, cutting, marinating, and preparing vegetables and meats for the Indian section.
- Cooking: Assisting with curries, tandoori items (tikkas, kebabs, naan), and biryanis.
- Hygiene: Ensuring workstation cleanliness and strictly adhering to food safety standards.
Requirements & Experience
- Experience: 2 to 4 years in hotel or premium restaurant kitchens.
- Skill Set: Deep understanding of regional Indian spices, tempering (tadka), and consistency in flavor.
- Hierarchy: Reports directly to a Demi Chef de Partie (DCDP) or Chef de Partie (CDP) to help run the station smoothly.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
