The Driver Trainer is responsible for training, evaluating, and supporting commercial vehicle drivers to ensure safe driving practices, regulatory compliance, and efficient vehicle operations. The role includes hands-on driver training, vehicle issue analysis, on-road trials, and reporting training outcomes to management.
Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct classroom and on-road training for commercial and heavy vehicle drivers

Accompany drivers when required to analyze driving behavior, operational issues, or vehicle-related concerns

Identify skill gaps and provide corrective and refresher training

Conduct driving trials for new drivers and reassessment for existing drivers

Take part in vehicle trials when drivers are unavailable or when vehicles are reported as not operational

Analyze vehicle conditions and identify possible reasons for issues based on performance and driver feedback

Support driver allocation by evaluating driver suitability for specific vehicles and assignments

Handle situations where drivers are unwilling or unable to report for assigned work

Ensure compliance with traffic rules, signaling standards, and company safety policies

Maintain driver training records, evaluations, and compliance documentation

Prepare and submit training, assessment, and issue‑analysis reports to management after completion

Minimum 10 years of commercial / heavy vehicle driving and training experience
-
Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) License

Experience with tractor trailers (Tata, Ashok Leyland, Volvo, etc.)

Strong knowledge of road regulations, traffic signals, and safety standards

Ability to identify driving and vehicle‑related issues through on‑road analysis

Good communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills

Minimum Matric +2 qualification

Languages: Telugu, Hindi, and Basic English – Mandatory
