About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant Feed Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager to oversee quality assurance, feed safety, organic compliance, traceability, regulatory compliance, and quality control operations within a soybean processing facility in Burkina Faso.
The successful candidate will ensure the production of high-quality Organic Soybean Meal (SBM) in line with applicable customer, international organic, food/feed safety and export requirements.
This is an expatriate position. Candidates must be willing to relocate to and work in Burkina Faso.
Key Responsibilities
Quality, Production & Traceability
- Oversee quality control of incoming organic soybeans, work-in-progress and finished products.
- Monitor processing parameters to ensure consistent moisture, protein, oil content, urease and other required quality specifications.
- Manage finished-product testing, release, COAs and pre-shipment verification.
- Ensure proper container inspection and product documentation before dispatch.
- Maintain robust lot coding, traceability, mass-balance and recall systems.
- Lead investigations into quality deviations and customer complaints, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA implementation.
Organic Compliance & Audits
- Develop and maintain the plant's Organic System Plan (OSP).
- Ensure compliance with USDA NOP, EU Organic and applicable customer requirements.
- Implement effective organic segregation, equipment clean-out and line-flush procedures.
- Manage interactions with organic certification bodies and lead internal and external audits.
- Ensure audit findings and corrective actions are properly investigated and closed.
Regulatory, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure FSQA activities comply with applicable Burkina Faso regulatory, environmental, food/feed safety and industrial safety requirements.
- Manage relevant registrations, permits, inspections and regulatory documentation.
- Oversee organic-compliant pest control, waste management and contamination-prevention programs.
Reporting & Team Development
- Prepare daily and weekly FSQA reports covering quality performance, CCP monitoring, deviations, CAPAs and regulatory risks.
- Maintain accurate and controlled quality documentation and records.
- Train and develop QA personnel, laboratory technicians, production operators and supervisors.
- Promote a strong food/feed safety, quality and organic compliance culture across the plant.
Raw Material Storage & Infestation Control
- Monitor organic soybean storage across silos and warehouses.
- Conduct routine inspections and sampling for moisture, temperature, mold and deterioration.
- Implement effective pest and infestation prevention measures while protecting organic product integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Quality Management or a related field.
- Proven experience in FSQA, Food/Feed Safety, Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably within soybean, oilseed, animal feed or agricultural processing.
- Strong knowledge of USDA NOP and/or EU Organic standards.
- Experience with HACCP, CCP monitoring, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis and traceability systems.
- Experience managing audits, certification bodies, customer complaints and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of raw-material, production and finished-product quality control.

Ideal Candidate
A hands-on FSQA professional with strong experience in soybean, oilseed, feed or agricultural processing, who can independently manage plant quality, organic compliance, traceability and audit requirements while leading and developing the quality team.
