We are a leading consumer electronics manufacturing company with annual revenues exceeding ₹1,000 Crore. We are looking for an experienced and technically strong professional to lead our SMT, MI, and Main Board Assembly operations. The role requires expertise in electronics manufacturing, production management, quality systems, process optimization, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
SMT Production Management
Lead and manage all Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production activities.
Ensure optimum utilization of SMT lines, manpower, machines, and resources.
Monitor production planning, line balancing, output, efficiency, and productivity.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, quality, and cost efficiency.
Minimize downtime and coordinate closely with maintenance and engineering teams.
MI & Main Board Assembly Operations
Oversee Manual Insertion (MI), soldering, testing, and PCB assembly operations.
Ensure smooth execution of assembly processes while maintaining quality and productivity targets.
Optimize workflow, manpower deployment, and process controls across assembly lines.
Implement best practices for electronics manufacturing and assembly operations.
Quality Management
Establish and maintain robust quality control systems throughout SMT, MI, and assembly processes.
Ensure adherence to IPC standards, process specifications, and customer quality requirements.
Drive reduction of defects, rework, rejection rates, and customer complaints.
Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to achieve world-class manufacturing standards.
Production Excellence & Process Improvement
Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, TPM, OEE improvement, and other productivity initiatives.
Monitor production KPIs including Yield, OEE, First Pass Yield (FPY), Rejection Rate, Productivity, and On-Time Delivery.
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process controls, and manufacturing documentation.
Lead process optimization and cost reduction projects.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead production supervisors, engineers, technicians, operators, and support staff.
Build a high-performance culture focused on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Conduct training and skill development programs for production teams.
Drive discipline, safety, and operational excellence across the department.
Planning & Coordination
Coordinate closely with Production Planning, Procurement, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D teams.
Ensure timely availability of materials, tools, fixtures, and resources.
Support new product introductions (NPI), process validation, and production ramp-ups.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Production Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 8–15 years of hands-on experience in SMT, PCB Assembly, Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Consumer Electronics, Appliances, or related industries.
Strong technical expertise in:
SMT process management
Pick-and-place machines
Reflow soldering
Wave soldering
Manual insertion (MI)
PCB assembly and testing
Process engineering and defect analysis
Proven experience managing complete SMT and assembly operations with responsibility for production, quality, manpower, and output.
Strong understanding of IPC standards, ESD controls, soldering standards, and electronics manufacturing best practices.
Experience in production planning, capacity utilization, line balancing, and productivity improvement.
Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, TPM, OEE, CAPA, SPC, FMEA, and other manufacturing excellence tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Experience working with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
Preferred Experience
Experience in LED TV, Consumer Electronics, Appliances, Set-Top Boxes, Mobile Electronics, EMS, or PCB manufacturing industries.
Experience handling multiple SMT lines and high-volume production environments.
Exposure to automated optical inspection (AOI), SPI, ICT, functional testing, and quality control systems.
Experience in customer audits, process audits, and quality certifications.
Track record of improving productivity, yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
