- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) with a Diploma in Industrial Safety, with 3–7 years of relevant experience in a factory, industrial, or construction environment.
OR any Diploma/Degree with NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) certification.
OR Diploma in Fire & Industrial Safety.
- Candidates with relevant experience in HVAC, Piping, Utility and Industrial Projects will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify hazards in and around the shop floor/site and implement appropriate measures to eliminate or control risks.
- Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Ensure employees and workers are trained and understand the relevant HIRA requirements and control measures.
- Conduct incident, accident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented and followed up.
- Conduct frequent safety inspections and audits with the Safety Committee to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviours, and ensure corrective action.
- Conduct regular Fire Safety Audits and ensure fire safety requirements are maintained.
- Establish, implement and maintain safety standards, procedures and policies wherever required.
- Ensure proper inspection, availability and maintenance records for fire extinguishers, fire hydrants and other firefighting equipment.
- Respond promptly to employee safety concerns and take appropriate corrective action.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective preventive measures are implemented.
- Have the authority to stop any unsafe work, act or process that may endanger employees, workers or property.
- Monitor, review and control the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
- Maintain knowledge and records related to LTI, MTI, First Aid cases and other safety performance indicators.
- Conduct regular safety, health and emergency response training.
- Organize and conduct emergency drills, fire drills and evacuation exercises.
- Develop and monitor safety metrics/KPIs and prepare regular safety reports.
- Maintain proper records of accidents, incidents, near-misses, inspections, training and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular lifting equipment and material-handling inspections in coordination with the maintenance/site team.
- Conduct daily Toolbox Meetings / Tool Box Talks and ensure worker participation.
- Prepare and implement daily, weekly and monthly safety plans and activities.
- Conduct weekly safety audits and follow up on outstanding observations until closure.
- Organize and participate in Safety Review Meetings and Safety Committee Meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, site safety requirements and applicable statutory requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project.
- Coordinate with project management, supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and workers to ensure safety requirements are strictly followed.
Required Skill Set
- Strong ability to identify hazards and unsafe conditions in and around the shop floor/site and implement effective control measures.
- Good knowledge of HIRA, JSA/JHA, Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedures.
- Good knowledge of PTW systems and industrial safety practices.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
