Job Summary:
The Planning Manager is responsible for production planning, material planning, and scheduling in a furniture manufacturing unit. The role ensures timely delivery, optimal resource utilization, and smooth coordination between production, procurement, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and forecasts
- Prepare production schedules for furniture items (modular, custom, bulk orders)
- Ensure on-time execution of production plans
2. Material Planning (MRP)
- Plan raw materials like wood, plywood, laminates, hardware, adhesives, etc.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of materials
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory
3. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with design, production, store, and dispatch departments
- Align production plans with customer delivery timelines
- Work closely with sales team for demand forecasting
4. Capacity & Resource Planning
- Assess machine capacity (panel saw, edge banding, CNC, hot press, etc.)
- Optimize manpower and machine utilization
- Identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements
5. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track production progress vs plan
- Prepare MIS reports (daily production, delays, efficiency, order status)
- Analyze deviations and implement corrective actions
6. Inventory & Cost Control
- Maintain optimal inventory levels
- Reduce wastage and improve material utilization
- Support cost control initiatives
7. Process Improvement
- Implement planning tools and ERP systems
- Improve production flow and reduce lead time
- Introduce best practices in manufacturing planning
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of production planning and MRP
- Understanding of furniture manufacturing processes
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP/software (SAP, Tally, or similar)
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Knowledge of Excel (advanced level preferred)
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Production / Industrial Management
- MBA (Operations) preferred
Experience:
- 5–10 years in production planning, preferably in furniture or woodworking industry

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
