Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CCTV Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting surveillance and security systems across various client sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, computer networking, and security technology, ensuring the seamless operation of surveillance infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a broad skill set in low voltage systems, cabling, and system design to enhance security solutions for our clients.
Duties
- Install and configure CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, and security systems according to schematics and system design plans
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on surveillance equipment and related security hardware
- Conduct cabling, wiring, and termination of low voltage electrical components using hand tools and power tools
- Integrate security systems with remote access software for monitoring and control purposes
- Diagnose system issues related to IDS, sensors, telecommunication links, and network connectivity
- Assist with the installation of alarm systems, fire alarms, and locksmithing components as needed
- Read schematics and technical manuals to ensure proper system setup and integration
- Provide field service support by visiting client sites to resolve technical problems efficiently
- Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or upgrades involving surveillance infrastructure
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in security or surveillance system installation and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of computer networking, telecommunication wiring, and system design principles
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, hand tools, and construction practices for system installation
- Familiarity with NEC standards, low voltage wiring practices, and electrical experience in security applications
- Experience working with CCTV cameras, sensors (including IDS), fire alarms, alarm systems sales experience is a plus
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical diagrams for system setup
- Knowledge of remote access software for remote monitoring and troubleshooting of security systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electronic or network issues
- Valid driver’s license preferred for field service visits; construction or locksmithing background advantageous
