KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage complete plant activities end-to-end — production, quality, maintenance, manpower, safety, and housekeeping — for the assigned unit.
- Own plant production targets, efficiency, yield, wastage control, and on-time dispatch.
- Lead, direct, and develop the plant team (production, maintenance, QC coordination, stores) toward consistent output and discipline.
- Ensure machines run at correct parameters and troubleshoot technical/production issues on the floor as they arise.
- Drive adherence to BRCGS and food-safety systems, standard operating procedures, and statutory compliance at the unit.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to maximise machine uptime and minimise breakdowns.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, and Planning to ensure raw material and spares availability aligns with the production plan.
- Monitor and report plant KPIs, downtime, rejections, and corrective actions to the COO / management.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost control, and productivity initiatives at the unit.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- 8–10 years minimum overall experience in the plastics industry.
- 3–4 years in a Production Manager or Plant Manager role in any manufacturing company.
- Technically sound AND managerially strong — both are essential, not either/or. Must be able to solve machine/process problems on the floor and lead a full plant team.
- Hands-on technical understanding of thermoforming and sheet extrusion machines preferred; if not, solid experience in the plastics industry is a must.
- Proven track record of running production targets, efficiency, and wastage control.
- Strong people management — able to drive discipline, accountability, and output across shifts.
- Working knowledge of quality systems (BRCGS / ISO / food safety an advantage) and comfort with production data/ERP systems.
- Experience of using ERP software is a must.
DESIRABLE
- Direct thermoforming and/or sheet extrusion plant experience.
- Experience in a BRCGS or similarly audited food-packaging environment.
- Exposure to lean/5S and structured shop-floor improvement practices.
- Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) for productivity and problem-solving.
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
