Job Purpose
To ensure effective PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) statutory compliance for the organization's explosives-related operations, including licensing, returns, documentation, inspections, record maintenance and coordination with PESO authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day PESO compliance related to explosives manufacturing, storage, handling, transportation and dispatch.
- Prepare and maintain RE-12 and RE-13 returns and ensure timely submission as per applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of explosives received, manufactured, consumed, transferred, dispatched and closing stock.
- Reconcile physical stock with statutory records and identify discrepancies, if any.
- Handle PESO licence applications, renewals, amendments, extensions and other regulatory submissions.
- Maintain records of all PESO licences, approvals, permissions, correspondence and statutory documents.
- Monitor the validity of PESO licences and ensure timely renewal to avoid any compliance lapse.
- Coordinate with PESO officials and other concerned government authorities for inspections, approvals, clarifications and compliance matters.
- Coordinate and assist during PESO inspections and ensure all required documents and records are readily available.
- Track observations raised during inspections and coordinate with concerned departments for timely corrective action and closure.
- Ensure compliance with the conditions specified in the applicable PESO licences and approvals.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Dispatch, EHS, Security and other departments for collection and verification of PESO-related data.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of RE-12, RE-13, stock records, inspection reports and other statutory records.
- Prepare periodic PESO compliance status reports for management.
- Monitor regulatory changes applicable to explosives and communicate relevant compliance requirements internally.
- Support statutory audits, internal compliance reviews and regulatory inspections.
- Immediately escalate any major compliance deviation, shortage, discrepancy, incident or violation to management.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all explosives-related statutory records.
Qualification
- Graduate/Diploma in Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety, EHS or a relevant field.
- Additional qualification in Industrial Safety / Explosives Safety / Regulatory Compliance will be an advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in PESO compliance, explosives industry, mining, blasting, chemical manufacturing or other regulated industries.
- Practical experience in RE-12 and RE-13 preparation and PESO documentation will be preferred.
- Experience in coordinating with PESO officials and handling statutory inspections will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
