Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plantation Manager to oversee the complete operations of our tea plantations and associated tea factories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading plantation activities, managing the entire workforce, ensuring efficient agricultural practices, and driving production to achieve quality and productivity targets. This role requires a strong leader with hands-on experience in plantation management, factory coordination, and workforce administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end operations of tea plantations and associated tea factories.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the entire plantation workforce, including field staff, supervisors, and factory personnel.
- Plan and execute all farming activities, including planting, pruning, plucking, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease management, and harvesting.
- Spearhead production activities to ensure optimum yield, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with factory teams to ensure timely processing of green leaf and smooth production operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve plantation productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor crop health and adopt best agricultural practices to maximize output.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, labour laws, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Prepare operational plans, production schedules, and periodic performance reports.
- Manage budgets, resources, and inventory related to plantation and factory operations.
- Train, mentor, and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Liaise with senior management to develop long-term plantation growth and production strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Horticulture, or a related field. Relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- 8–10 years of managerial experience in tea plantation operations or similar plantation industries.
- Proven experience in managing large plantation workforces and factory operations.
- Strong knowledge of tea cultivation practices, plantation management, and tea manufacturing processes.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and people management skills.
- Ability to drive productivity while maintaining high quality standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
