Head, Business Development (Jewellery Division)Position
The Head – Business Development (Jewellery Division) will be responsible for driving overall business growth, market expansion, strategic partnerships, customer acquisition, and revenue generation for the Jewellery Division. The role requires an experienced professional with extensive knowledge of the gold jewellery industry, established relationships with leading jewellery retailers, and a proven track record of achieving aggressive sales and business development targets across domestic and international markets.
The incumbent will play a critical role in expanding the company's footprint among organized jewellery retail chains, distributors, wholesalers, and corporate buyers while ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Growth
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
- Identify emerging market trends, customer demands, and new business opportunities.
- Prepare annual business plans, budgets, and sales forecasts.
Strategic Retail Business Development
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with leading jewellery retail chains including Kalyan Jewellers, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Tanishq, Joyalukkas, Senco Gold, PNG Jewellers, Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ), and other prominent jewellery brands.
- Act as the primary point of contact for organized retail chains, large-format jewellery retailers, and corporate buyers.
- Identify opportunities for private-label manufacturing, contract manufacturing, exclusive collections, and strategic supply partnerships.
- Lead vendor registrations, product presentations, commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and annual business agreements with key retail accounts.
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships with national and international jewellery retail groups.
- Ensure consistent business growth through acquisition and retention of key accounts.
Market Expansion & Sales Development
- Expand the company's business presence across India and international markets.
- Develop and strengthen dealer, distributor, retailer, and institutional buyer networks.
- Identify new territories, export opportunities, and strategic business alliances.
- Develop market penetration strategies for organized retail and wholesale channels.
- Participate in jewellery exhibitions, trade fairs, networking events, and industry forums.
Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and corporate customers.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key customers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term account retention.
- Negotiate and finalize high-value business contracts and commercial agreements.
Product & Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, customer preferences, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, Production, and Supply Chain teams to align products with market requirements.
- Recommend new product categories and growth opportunities based on market intelligence.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing Business Development and Sales teams.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and capability development programs.
- Foster a performance-driven and customer-focused culture.
Financial & Operational Management
- Prepare sales forecasts, revenue projections, and business reports.
- Monitor profitability, margins, collections, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely payment collections and healthy receivable management.
- Present monthly and quarterly business performance reports to senior management.
Pan-India Business Travel & Market Development
- Undertake extensive travel across North, South, East, West, and Central India to develop business opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
- Regularly visit jewellery retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts across various regions.
- Conduct market visits to identify new opportunities, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, business negotiations, trade exhibitions, and industry conferences across India.
- Drive territory-wise sales growth and market expansion initiatives.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, commercial practices, and industry regulations.
- Mitigate business risks associated with customers, markets, and commercial transactions.
- Maintain ethical and professional business standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or related field.
- MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the Gold Jewellery Industry.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Business Development, Sales, or Strategic Partnerships.
- Proven experience working with organized jewellery retail chains and large-format jewellery brands.
- Experience in domestic and international markets is highly preferred.

- Proven business dealings with brands such as Kalyan Jewellers, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Tanishq, Joyalukkas, Senco Gold, PNG Jewellers, TBZ, and similar jewellery groups.
- Demonstrated success in generating substantial business revenue through organized retail and strategic partnerships.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, relationship management, and leadership capabilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India for business development activities.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
