Skills & Competencies:
> Strong understanding of machining processes CNC (turning, boring, milling, etc.)
> Familiarity with large casting materials (CI, SG Iron, castings)
> Good negotiation and communication skills
> Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, S4 Hana)
> Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
> Problem-solving and decision-making ability
Responsibilities:
1. Subcontract Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard subcontractors for machining of large castings. Maintain an approved subcontractor list with capabilities, certifications, and past performance.
2. Production Coordination: Plan and schedule machining jobs to subcontractors based on production priorities. Ensure timely pickup, delivery, and follow-up of castings to and from subcontractors.
3. Technical Oversight: Review machining drawings, tolerances, and technical requirements with subcontractors. Support subcontractors in resolving technical queries and interpreting drawings.
4. Quality Assurance: Ensure that subcontractors adhere to specified quality standards. Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections and approvals at subcontractor sites.
5. Cost and Budget Control: Negotiate rates and maintain cost control for outsourced machining. Monitor subcontracting costs against budget and raise concerns for overruns.
6. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain proper documentation for all subcontracted work. Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, safety norms).
7. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and lead supplier development initiatives. Track subcontractor performance using KPIs like on-time delivery, rejection rate, and lead time.
