About the Role
Asoka World School is seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly organised education professional to join its senior leadership team as Head Teacher – Student Activities & Events.
The role will be responsible for leading and developing the school’s student activities, co-curricular programmes, events, competitions, clubs, celebrations and student leadership initiatives.
We are looking for an educator who combines substantial school experience with the energy, creativity and organisational ability required to create a vibrant student experience beyond the classroom.
The position requires close coordination with the Principal, Section Heads, Coordinators, teachers and Management.
For an exceptional candidate with significant school leadership experience and demonstrated ability to take on wider institutional responsibilities, appointment at the level of Vice Principal may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the school's annual Student Activities and Events Calendar.
- Lead the planning and execution of major school programmes including Annual Day, Sports Day, cultural programmes, celebrations, exhibitions and special events.
- Coordinate inter-house and inter-school competitions and student participation in external programmes.
- Develop and strengthen the school's House System, Clubs and Student Council.
- Create opportunities for students in leadership, public speaking, performing arts, sports, creativity, community engagement and life skills.
- Identify suitable CBSE, inter-school, district, state, national and international competitions and programmes for student participation.
- Coordinate assemblies, commemorative days, festivals and special school programmes.
- Work with Section Heads and teachers to ensure that activities are effectively integrated with the academic calendar.
- Allocate responsibilities to teachers and coordinators and ensure timely and professional execution of programmes.
- Conduct planning and review meetings for major activities and events.
- Establish timelines, checklists and accountability for every major programme.
- Coordinate venues, transportation, permissions, equipment, vendors and other logistical requirements.
- Ensure proper student supervision, discipline and safety during all activities and events.
- Coordinate educational visits, field trips, excursions and other external student programmes where required.
- Maintain appropriate budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Maintain records of participation, achievements, competitions, certificates and major school activities.
- Work with the school's communication and creative teams to document and showcase student achievements and school programmes.
- Encourage greater student participation across different age groups and ability levels.
- Identify and mentor students for positions of responsibility and leadership.
- Develop innovative programmes that improve student confidence, communication, teamwork, creativity and school spirit.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and continuously improve the quality of programmes.
- Represent the school, where required, in inter-school programmes and external forums.
- Contribute actively to the school's overall culture, discipline, student development and institutional growth.
- Undertake additional leadership responsibilities assigned by the Principal or Management.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential Requirements
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in school education.
- Significant experience working in CBSE schools.
- Strong experience in student activities, school events, co-curricular programmes or student development.
- Demonstrated ability to independently organise and execute major school programmes.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and coordinate teams of teachers.
- Strong planning, delegation and follow-up abilities.
- Comfortable using technology for communication, presentations, scheduling and documentation.

Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked as:
- Head Teacher
- Senior Coordinator
- Section Head
- CCA Coordinator
- Student Activities Coordinator
- Head of Student Affairs
- Academic Coordinator
- Vice Principal
Experience managing areas such as Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), Student Council, House System, Clubs, Annual Day, Sports Day, competitions, cultural programmes, assemblies, educational trips and inter-school activities will be an advantage.

This position forms part of the school's extended leadership structure.
While the appointment is being advertised as Head Teacher – Student Activities & Events, candidates with substantial leadership experience, a strong record in CBSE schools and the capability to undertake broader school administration and student-development responsibilities may be considered for appointment as Vice Principal.
Any such appointment will depend on the candidate's experience, leadership ability and suitability for the wider role.
