Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
- Conduct and coordinate EIA/EMP studies for projects (industrial, infrastructure, irrigation, urban development, etc.)
- Prepare EIA reports as per EIA Notification, 2006 and amendments
- Perform baseline environmental studies (water, air, soil, noise)
- Identify environmental impacts and develop mitigation measures
- Support public hearing processes and stakeholder consultations
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as:
- MoEF&CC
- State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs)
- SEIAA/SEAC
Water Resource & Management
- Conduct hydrological and hydrogeological studies
- Assess water balance, water budgeting, and demand-supply analysis
- Design and evaluate:
- Water supply systems
- Wastewater treatment systems (ETP/STP)
- Rainwater harvesting systems
- Analyze surface water and groundwater impacts
- Prepare water conservation and reuse plans
- Work on irrigation, watershed, and river basin projects
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Environmental Clearance (EC)
- Consent to Establish (CTE) / Consent to Operate (CTO)
- Interpret environmental laws and standards:
- Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974
- Environment Protection Act, 1986
- Prepare compliance reports and audit documentation
- Assist in legal/environmental due diligence
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze environmental monitoring data (water quality, flow, etc.)
- Use tools like:
- GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS)
- Hydrological models (HEC-HMS, SWAT, etc.)
- Prepare technical reports, DPRs, feasibility studies
- Maintain documentation as per NABET accreditation requirements
Client & Project Coordination
- Interact with clients, consultants, and government authorities
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Support business development through technical proposals
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Master’s degree in:
- Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science
- Water Resources Engineering / Hydrology / Hydrogeology
Experience
- 5–15 years (depending on level) in:
- EIA studies
- Water resource management
- Environmental consulting
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of EIA process & regulatory framework in India
- Expertise in water quality, hydrology, and wastewater systems
- Knowledge of EIA report writing and appraisal process
- Familiarity with NABET EIA Coordinator criteria
- Proficiency in GIS and modeling tools (preferred)
- Good communication and report writing skills
Preferred Certifications
- NABET Accreditation (Functional Area: Water / EIA Coordinator)
- Membership in professional bodies (e.g., IEI, IAH)
