Job Purpose
To lead and manage the complete machine shop operations by ensuring production targets, quality standards, cost optimization, delivery commitments, manpower productivity, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Head is responsible for achieving world-class manufacturing practices through effective planning, process control, and team leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Monitor production schedules and optimize machine utilization.
- Coordinate with PPC to ensure timely execution of production plans.
- Ensure on-time delivery to customers.
Manufacturing Operations
- Lead complete machine shop operations involving CNC, VMC, HMC, Turning Centers, Grinding, Drilling, Milling, and Special Purpose Machines.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Reduce cycle time and increase productivity.
- Ensure optimum machine capacity utilization.
Productivity Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, SMED, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma practices.
- Drive continuous improvement projects.
- Eliminate non-value-added activities.
Quality Management
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for process improvements.
- Ensure process capability and standardization.
Cost Control
- Control manufacturing costs.
- Reduce tool consumption and machining costs.
- Monitor consumable usage.
- Improve labor productivity.
- Reduce overtime costs.
Resource Management
- Plan manpower according to production requirements.
- Ensure proper allocation of operators and supervisors.
- Develop multi-skilled workforce.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance Department for preventive maintenance.
- Minimize machine breakdowns.
- Improve machine availability.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Promote zero accident culture.
- Ensure statutory and company policy compliance.
Inventory Control
- Coordinate with Stores and PPC to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Control WIP inventory.
- Improve inventory turnover.
Team Development
- Lead Production Managers, Shift In-charges, Engineers, Supervisors, and Operators.
- Conduct performance reviews.
- Identify training needs and develop team capabilities.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Monitor KPIs.
- Present monthly production performance to management.
- Analyze production losses and implement corrective actions.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
- MBA (Operations) preferred
Experience
- 15–20 years of experience in machine shop/manufacturing operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing machine shop production.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
