The Opportunity
As part of the EY GDS Utilities team, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and support of SAP IS-U solutions, with a strong focus on Market Process Management (MPM), IDEX, and Application Process Engine (APE).
We are seeking a Senior Consultant with strong expertise in SAP IS-U MPM / IDEX, along with exposure to or experience in MPM APE, to join our growing Utilities practice. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale transformation programs and be instrumental in shaping next-generation utility solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide deep functional expertise in Electricity, Gas, and Water utilities, particularly in deregulated markets
Lead workshops, blueprint sessions, and stakeholder discussions
Design and configure end-to-end IS-U business processes, aligned with industry best practices
Translate complex business requirements into functional and technical specifications
Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Communicate complex requirements clearly
Support client discussions, solution design, and demos
Skills and Attributes for Success
Should understand different business process in of Utility Industry (Deregulated)
Strong hands-on experience on IS-Utility IDEX/MPM concept’s:
Business & Technical Master Data setup
Should have Major experience in Developing IDE framework
Configure and manage Application Process Engine (APE) for MPM workflows
Design and enhance process automation using APE, including:
Process step configuration
Workflow orchestration and sequencing
Exception handling and monitoring
Enrollment, Drop, Confirmation, Meter Data usage
End to end Development of -CoS process (Loss and Gain)
Meter Reading and Profile Values validation and upload via Idoc
Initial Configuration and setup of Process Document
Core understanding an experience of Dealing with PoD
Should be capable -Develop and drive business discussion related to -Acquisition, Move in, New Business Registration and Withdrawal, Request
Understanding the regulatory requirements of a deregulated Market. Intercompany market transactions in a deregulated environment
Integration of SAP MPM in - Change of Supplier scenario with SAP DM, Billing and FICA
Knowledge of Energy settlement and Energy Audit will be desired
Functional testing of requirements and debugging of codes
Knowledge of IS-U CS, FICA and DM
Should have good communication and customer-facing skill
Ideal Candidate Profile
College degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences
Should be more than 4 years of experience in a functional role. Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities during the period
Should have worked on minimum 1 implementation from scratch as a lead consultant.
SAP Utilities certifications a plus
Experience in APE-based automation and process optimization
Knowledge of S/4HANA Utilities landscape
Understanding of Meter-to-Cash processes
Knowledge of integration with SAP DM and FICA, EDM
Exposure to migration from legacy IDE to MPM/APE frameworks
A Team of people with commercial acumen, technical experience and enthusiasm to learn new things in this fast-moving environment
