Job Summary
The Supermarket Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring excellent customer service, achieving sales targets, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Manage overall day-to-day supermarket operations.
- Ensure the store opens and closes on time.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and store standards.
- Monitor product displays and merchandising.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and ensure product availability.
- Coordinate stock ordering and replenishment.
- Conduct regular stock audits and inventory checks.
- Manage expiry control and stock rotation (FIFO).
Team Management
- Supervise and motivate store employees.
- Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters.
- Conduct training and performance evaluations.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies.
Customer Service
- Ensure excellent customer service at all times.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Build positive customer relationships.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Maintain health, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Ensure all licenses and statutory requirements are up to date.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in supermarket/retail management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management and retail operations.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and retail software/POS systems.
