Responsible for developing good quality castings with maximum possible yield within shortest possible lead time.
Assist the DIC in defining right processes, metrics and critical success factors to achieve operational efficiencies, quality standards and new product development
Support the Product and Process engineering function in Identifying the high cost items in PD process and initiate cost reduction actions to reduce cost
Work towards maintaining COPQ(Cost of Poor Quality) of the unit within the acceptable target limits
Ensure the highest quality output that meets customers' expectation in the most cost effective manner, through efficient new product development processes
Work along with Project Management function regarding new development castings approval by customers
Conducting Feasibility study of Casting components
Preparation of estimation of Tooling costs
Prepare new pattern mounting and parting line design and follow-up with pattern maker for new product developments
Participate in CFT and all review meeting for new product developments.
Sample follow-up still quality approval as per timeline plan
Finalizing running system for new products through MAGMA simulation soft ware.
Update with pattern maker for Design alterations & reworks.
Revisit & modify running system by using MAGMA simulation soft ware for low yield castings
Analysing of rejection through QC story.
Create 7 Gate process documents for New product development parts
Analyse and modify process, pattern and core boxes to improve process flaws (Core Rubbing, Fins and Flashes)
Maintain of Records, documents(ISO, OHSAS &TQM) and its retrieval
Review, Set, and track suitable targets and KPIs for the team to ensure effective performance and delivery
Ensure adherence to Business Excellence processes in all activities related to the Product and Process Engineering function, approve TQM status & monthly audit in inter-department.
Support innovation and automation centre team to explore and implemented novel technologies in the field of product development
Identify and use the latest technologies and tools in the field of New product development for Foundry
Facilitate continuous learning and skilling across the function on essential functional and behavioural competencies
Monitor functional performance and identify areas of strengths and opportunities for development
