Job Description – Plant Head/HR Manager (Manufacturing)

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Plant Head to lead overall manufacturing operations, production planning, plant administration, quality, maintenance, safety, and workforce management. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills with a proven track record in driving operational excellence, productivity improvement, cost control, and compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end plant operations including Production, Maintenance, Quality, Stores, and Dispatch.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.
- Monitor plant performance metrics such as rejection rates, downtime, productivity, and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, statutory compliance, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with SCM, Procurement, Sales, and HR for smooth operations.
- Prepare and manage plant budgets, cost reduction plans, and capex activities.
- Develop and mentor plant teams to improve performance and engagement.
- Handle audits, inspections, and customer compliance requirements.
- Drive process automation and operational improvements.
- Manage end-to-end HR operations for plant and corporate employees.
- Handle recruitment and manpower planning for technical and non-technical roles.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, factory act, PF, ESIC, gratuity, and statutory regulations.
- Maintain healthy industrial relations and coordinate with labor unions where applicable.
- Drive performance management systems, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Implement HR policies, SOPs, and employee engagement activities.
- Manage payroll coordination, attendance, leave records, and HRMIS systems.
- Conduct disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
- Support organizational development and succession planning initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports, MIS, and manpower analytics for management review.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / MBA preferred.
- Experience in Defence will be an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of production planning, maintenance, quality systems, and industrial engineering.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Industries
FMCG, Packaging, Chemicals, Engineering, Steel, Plastic, Textile, or Process Manufacturing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience in Industrial Relations (IR) and employee engagement.
- Good communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience with HRMS and payroll systems.
Preferred Language: Fluent in Assamese, English & Hindi.
