Job Overview
We are seeking an architect-level Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in Windows OS Internals, Systems Programming, Windows Deployment, and Enterprise Endpoint Automation.
This is a highly specialized engineering role focused on low-level Windows technologies, including OS boot and recovery, bare-metal deployment, patch orchestration, Windows startup flows, endpoint state management, and zero-disruption updates.
The selected candidate will work closely with the CTO and Head of Product to translate product concepts into robust technical designs, define architecture, and provide technical leadership to a small engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop an endpoint decision engine supporting:
- Endpoint state scanning
- Desired-state policy interpretation
- CVE/vulnerability-based prioritization
- Dependency-aware task sequencing
- Multi-reboot orchestration
- Develop zero-disruption Windows update mechanisms, including application detection, patch deferral/retry, and startup-sequence integration.
- Build WinPE-based recovery environments and programmatic, image-free Windows installation workflows.
- Develop bare-metal OS deployment and internet-boot capabilities, including recovery scenarios where the OS is unbootable or storage has failed.
- Extend and automate Windows Autopilot workflows for dependency-aware and fully configured device provisioning.
- Implement pre-boot Microsoft Entra ID authentication from recovery environments.
- Build content delivery infrastructure using:
- Azure Blob Storage
- CDN-backed repositories
- On-premises repositories
- Network-aware distribution points
- Automate driver, BIOS, and firmware updates across supported OEM devices.
- Support provisioning and management of:
- VDI
- Windows 365 Cloud PCs
- Azure Virtual Desktop
- Collaborate with the CTO and Product leadership on architecture, technical roadmap, and future platform expansion.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong systems-level Windows development.
- Deep expertise in Windows Internals, including:
- Windows boot sequence
- Windows services
- Windows Registry
- Security tokens
- Privilege management
- Kernel-adjacent / low-level development
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- WinPE
- Windows OS deployment
- Task sequencing
- Unattended installation
- Driver management
- Application packaging
- Installation dependencies
- Windows recovery
- Expert-level programming experience with C/C++ and/or C#/.NET.
- Advanced PowerShell skills.
- Strong understanding of Windows APIs and system-level programming.
- Experience with enterprise endpoint management platforms such as:
- Microsoft Intune
- SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Windows Autopilot
- BigFix
- Kaseya
- Comparable endpoint management platforms
- Experience with Windows code signing and Secure Boot requirements.
- Knowledge of EV certificates, Microsoft signing processes, and security review requirements.
- Strong architecture and system-design capabilities.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Good to Have
- Experience building commercial Windows deployment, patching, or endpoint management products.
- Vulnerability management experience, including CVE/CVSS-based prioritization and remediation.
- Azure infrastructure and CDN experience.
- Driver, BIOS, or firmware update development experience.
- macOS internals and Apple developer ecosystem experience.
- Knowledge of macOS code signing, notarization, and enterprise mass deployment.
Work & Engagement Requirements
- Fully remote position.
- Must be comfortable working U.S. Central Time hours.
- Regular collaboration with U.S.-based leadership across Central and Pacific Time zones.
- Candidates from Americas time zones are strongly preferred.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior/architect-level Windows Systems Engineer with deep hands-on experience below the application layer and strong knowledge of Windows boot, installation, recovery, authentication, patching, deployment, and system configuration.
This is NOT a standard Windows Administrator or IT Support position.
Candidates must have strong software engineering experience in Windows Internals, low-level programming, OS deployment, automation, and enterprise endpoint management.
Pay: ₹220,000.00 - ₹230,000.00 per month
