Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily housekeeping operations and ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate will supervise housekeeping staff, maintain quality standards, ensure infection control compliance, and support efficient departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities across assigned hospital areas.
- Allocate work schedules, duties, and shifts to housekeeping staff.
- Ensure all patient rooms, wards, OPD, ICUs, OTs, public areas, and offices are cleaned and sanitized as per hospital protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and performance.
- Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and infection control guidelines.
- Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE.
- Maintain adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies and raise purchase requisitions when required.
- Coordinate with Nursing, Maintenance, Biomedical, and other departments for seamless operations.
- Handle patient and visitor complaints related to housekeeping services promptly.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, NABH guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping reports.
- Monitor waste segregation and biomedical waste disposal as per regulatory guidelines.
- Support emergency cleaning requirements and infection prevention initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or any graduate.
- Certification in Housekeeping or Facility Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of hospital housekeeping procedures and infection control practices.
- Understanding of biomedical waste management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage staff schedules and resolve operational issues.
- Proficiency in housekeeping documentation and reporting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals is preferred.
- Positive attitude with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
