This is an excellent opportunity to join Oxford University Press’s Academic division within the Research Editorial team. The role offers exposure to a multifaceted publishing programme, supporting both commissioning and content development across multiple formats and disciplines.

You will provide editorial and administrative support across all stages of the publishing process, including:
- Supporting commissioning and content development activities across formats and disciplines
- Managing project setup, including creating and maintaining product/content data and running P&Ls using internal systems such as Oxford Publish
- Processing and tracking content and metadata (loading, reviewing, editing, reporting, and maintaining tracking systems)
- Handling and processing standard contracts, including issuing contracts, managing documentation, responding to queries, and liaising with Royalties and Publications teams
- Supporting authors by responding to routine queries, providing guidance, and maintaining strong working relationships
- Assisting with manuscript preparation and handover to Production, including editing, preparing artwork logs, metadata updates, permission checks, and Sales/Marketing materials
- Monitoring project progress through production workflows and resolving or escalating queries appropriately
- Processing payment requests and handling complimentary access requests for authors, editors, and contributors
- Providing administrative support to senior editorial leadership, including reporting, documentation, calendar and meeting coordination, and liaison with internal departments such as IT and Facilities
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Editorial, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Content Operations, etc.) to ensure smooth publishing workflows
- Supporting specific projects such as new-in-paperback workflows, multi-contributor works, and author-delivered manuscripts through to production handover (with supervision)
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient delivery of publishing projects, maintaining strong relationships with authors and stakeholders, and supporting seamless coordination between Editorial and other departments. The Editorial Assistant contributes directly to the success of the department, division, and wider Press through high-quality execution and active participation in additional projects.
