The mission of the Tender Manager (Product) is to prepare and promote the most competitive technical proposal of equipment and services, to the benefit of the Customer, in line with the strategy defined by Sales.
For the Product scope of work, the target is Optimized product performance, competitive cost and delivery schedule, comformity with regulations and Client specification.
As part of our business growth, we are looking for a Tender Manager to support our sales and tendering activities in India.
From opportunity identification to handover of the contract to the execution teams, the Tender Manager (TM) leads the tendering process on all assigned tenders and is responsible to :
Support the definition and implementation of the Sales Strategy
Coordinate the proposal preparation for the applicable Product scope to get the best technical proposal (optimal technical fit, optimal performances, optimal schedule)
Full responsibility for the whole proposal preparation: technical proposal, scope, costs and performance guarantees, industrial set-up and delivery schedule
Definition of scope with clear limits of supply, in line with agreed DoW (Delegation of Work)
Define the optimized technical solution, Product selection and Product sizing
Analyze & comment deviations to the client specification
Monitor Tender documentation (Product Description, HBD, arrangement drawing, Product data sheets, project specific templates, …)
Obtain the Bill of Quantities from Engineering
Propose a reliable industrial scheme, proven sub-suppliers in line with Sourcing strategy.
Costing: ensure the cost estimate corresponding to the selected Product is complete and based on the established Cost out program, supported by PO evidence, suppliers offers, valid Cost Handbooks or Price Lists, etc…
Planning: ensure the Product Key Dates and Tender Time Schedule are aligned with the bid strategy and include verified lead times, adequate float, adequate lead time for NPI, engineering, qualification, procurement, manufacturing, and delivery stages for the Product scope
Organize and coordinate the Product Tender Review gates for his scope (Technical Design Review, Tender Cost & Risk Review) before participation to the meeting with the Leadership team
Support identification, development of partners and defining division of responsibilities, in line with Transfer of Technology Agreements, if any
Report and mitigate all technical, performance, schedule and sourcing risks with subject matter expert and risk manager
Participate with the Deal Team to post-bid clarifications and negotiations with the Client
Prepare & deliver Technical Handover for the applicable Product scope to the Project Execution team
- Master degree in either mechanical, thermal, electrical engineering
- Specialty in large turbomachines or thermal equipment for power generation
- Several years experience in the power generation industry, in the nuclear industry, Product design, project engineering or project management
- Experience in sales and tendering work, in new build or service markets
- Customer focus, clear communication skills, negotiating skills
- Be result-oriented, be focused on speed and efficiency
- Team work ability in multi-cultural organizations
- Leadership ability, to plan and drive on-time delivery of tender deliverables, quality of work, rigorous mindset and attention to details
- Problem-solving mindset, pro-activity
- Fluent English, written and spoken is mandatory
