Job Purpose -
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, delivering an exceptional customer experience, maintaining operational excellence, managing inventory, and leading the store team. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and assumes full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Business Support
- Support the Store Manager in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor daily sales performance and assist in implementing action plans to improve results.
- Motivate the sales team to achieve individual and store sales goals.
- Promote company offers, loyalty programs, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist in increasing Average Bill Value (ABV), Units Per Bill (UPB), and customer conversion.
2. Customer Experience
- Ensure every customer receives prompt, courteous, and professional service.
- Assist customers with product selection and styling recommendations.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain a welcoming and customer-friendly shopping environment.
3. Store Operations
- Supervise daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning.
- Ensure timely opening and closing of the store as per company guidelines.
- Monitor billing operations and POS accuracy.
- Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are consistently maintained.
- Ensure all operational SOPs are followed by the team.
4. Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide Sales Executives during daily operations.
- Conduct daily floor briefings in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist in onboarding and training new employees.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and discipline.
- Encourage teamwork and maintain a positive work environment.
5. Inventory Management
- Supervise merchandise inward and outward processes.
- Ensure proper stock replenishment on the sales floor.
- Conduct regular stock counts and support stock audits.
- Report stock shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately.
- Help minimize inventory loss through effective stock control.
6. Visual Merchandising
- Ensure merchandise is displayed according to company visual merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain clean, organized, and attractive product displays.
- Ensure mannequins, promotional displays, and signage are updated as instructed.
- Monitor product availability and replenish displays throughout the day.
7. Cash & Compliance
- Follow company cash handling and billing procedures.
- Assist in daily cash reconciliation and closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and statutory requirements.
- Report any operational irregularities or policy violations immediately.
8. Reporting & Communication
- Assist in preparing daily sales and operational reports.
- Share store updates with the Store Manager.
- Coordinate effectively with warehouse, accounts, IT, and other support departments.
- Escalate operational issues that require management intervention.
9. Acting Store Manager Responsibilities
In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager shall:
- Manage complete store operations.
- Lead and supervise the entire store team.
- Handle customer escalations.
- Ensure achievement of daily sales objectives.
- Maintain operational discipline and company standards.
- Report directly to the Area Sales Manager until the Store Manager resumes duty.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred).
- 2–4 years of experience in retail, preferably in apparel or fashion.
- Previous experience as a Senior Sales Executive or Team Leader is preferred.

The Assistant Store Manager is authorized to:

- Monitor stock replenishment and merchandising activities.
- Perform Store Manager responsibilities during their absence.
- Recommend operational improvements to the Store Manager.
Success in This Role
A successful Assistant Store Manager consistently supports the achievement of store sales targets, maintains high operational standards, develops the sales team, ensures inventory accuracy, delivers outstanding customer service, and effectively manages the store whenever required, contributing to the overall success of Liverpool Clothing.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
