Public Relations Officer (PRO) – Hospital
Job Summary
The Public Relations Officer serves as the primary point of contact for patients, attendants, media representatives, and the public. They help promote the hospital's services, handle inquiries and complaints, coordinate public awareness activities, and support the hospital's reputation management efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Patient & Visitor Relations
- Assist patients and their families with information and guidance.
- Address patient complaints, concerns, and feedback.
- Coordinate with hospital departments to resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure a positive patient experience.
Public Communication
- Provide accurate information about hospital services, facilities, and policies.
- Prepare brochures, newsletters, press releases, and public notices.
- Manage communication during special events and health campaigns.
Media Relations
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and media organizations.
- Arrange press conferences, interviews, and media visits.
- Monitor media coverage and respond to inquiries when authorized.
Community Outreach
- Organize health awareness programs, camps, and community events.
- Build relationships with local organizations, government agencies, and community groups.
- Promote preventive healthcare initiatives.
Reputation Management
- Monitor public perception of the hospital.
- Handle crisis communication and sensitive situations professionally.
- Support branding and marketing initiatives.
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, administration, and management.
- Communicate important updates to staff and stakeholders.
- Assist in organizing internal events and employee engagement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Mass Communication, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in public relations, customer service, hospitality, or healthcare administration is preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and hospital operations is an advantage.
