Geospatial Pipeline Engineer / GIS Automation Developer
Role Overview
We are looking for a Geospatial Pipeline Engineer with strong experience in Python-based GIS automation, scalable data pipelines, spatial analysis, and infrastructure automation. The role focuses on building high-performance geospatial processing systems integrating raster/vector workflows, automation pipelines, distributed storage, APIs, and visualization platforms.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Python GIS ecosystems, QGIS automation, large-scale geospatial ETL, cloud/self-hosted object storage, backend development, and operational tooling for data-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build end-to-end geospatial data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery of spatial datasets.
Develop scalable GIS automation workflows using Python and QGIS.
Build automated raster/vector processing systems for satellite imagery, shapefiles, GeoJSON, DEMs, LiDAR, and other spatial formats.
Create geospatial ETL pipelines integrating APIs, databases, object storage, and processing engines.
Automate geospatial tasks including:
Coordinate transformations
Tiling and map generation
Spatial indexing
Feature extraction
Topology validation
Spatial joins and overlays
Raster reprojection and clipping
Develop backend services and APIs for geospatial data access and processing.
Integrate local/self-hosted object storage solutions such as MinIO for large spatial datasets.
Build monitoring, logging, and operational tooling for long-running processing pipelines.
Optimize performance for large-scale geospatial workloads and parallel processing tasks.
Deploy and maintain Linux-based processing environments and containerized services.
Work with mapping and visualization stacks including tile servers and web GIS platforms.
