Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with clients, internal design teams, and stakeholders to understand mechanical system requirements and applications.
2. Conduct engineering research on materials, mechanisms, and manufacturing processes to improve system performance and reliability.
3. Perform concept design, mechanism development, and detailed engineering of mechanical components and assemblies.
4. Design and develop mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks.
5. Perform FEA simulations and engineering analysis to validate, optimize, and refine designs and develop functional prototypes to evaluate design feasibility and real-world performance.
6. Work closely with machine shops, fabrication vendors, and manufacturers for prototype fabrication.
7. Conduct testing and performance analysis to identify improvements and refine designs.
8. Coordinate with manufacturing partners for component fabrication, machining, and assembly.
9. Travel to vendor workshops and fabrication units to oversee prototype manufacturing and ensure compliance with design specifications.
10. Procure raw materials and mechanical components from industrial suppliers for prototype development.
11. Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including manufacturing drawings, BOMs, design calculations, and test reports.
12. Maintain records of design iterations, prototype results, and performance analytics for future reference and continuous improvement.
13. Manage engineering tasks within project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
14. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure project alignment.
15. Travel to installation sites for new system installations occasionally for maintenance, troubleshooting, or replacement of mechanical components.
16. Stay updated with latest engineering technologies, materials, and design best practices.
Required Skills :-
1. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
2. Good understanding of mechanical design principles, machine elements, and mechanism design.
3. Ability to create manufacturing drawings with GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs.
4. Basic knowledge of FEA analysis for validating mechanical designs.
5. Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and basic machining operations.
6. Experience with prototype development and design iteration.
7. Ability to perform engineering calculations related to loads, stress, motion, and mechanical performance.
8. Good understanding of materials and their mechanical properties.
9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
10. Ability to coordinate with vendors, machine shops, and manufacturing partners.
Preferred Skills :-
1. Experience with SolidWorks Simulation or other FEA tools.
2. Knowledge of CAM or CNC machining processes.
3. Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.
4. Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
5. Experience in product development or R&D environments.
6. Exposure to tolerance stack-up analysis.
7. Basic knowledge of mechanical testing and validation methods.
8. Experience working with fabrication vendors and prototype workshops.
9. Ability to assist in installation, troubleshooting, and mechanical system maintenance.
