Job Summary
The Commis I – Indian Cuisine is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen safety. The role supports the senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensures timely preparation and presentation of menu items.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist the Chef de Partie in the daily operations of the Indian kitchen.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with quality and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
- Monitor food stock levels and inform supervisors of replenishment requirements.
- Properly store food items following food safety and FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Support other kitchen sections whenever required.
- Participate in inventory checks and kitchen cleaning schedules.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience as a Commis I or similar role in an Indian kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
- Good knowledge of Indian cuisine, cooking techniques, spices, gravies.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,157.56 per month
Work Location: In person
