A Hospital Store Executive manages daily inventory (medical/non-medical supplies), procurement, and distribution, ensuring departments have needed items for patient care while maintaining accurate records, adhering to budgets and regulations (like NABH), negotiating with vendors, and supervising staff, requiring skills in supply chain, organization, and compliance.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, track expiry dates, organize storage, and ensure proper conditions for medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals.
- Procurement: Source, order, and receive supplies, verifying quality and quantity, and managing purchase orders.
- Distribution: Fulfill requisitions from various hospital departments (OT, wards) and ensure timely delivery.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all transactions (receipts, issues, stock) using inventory software (like HIS).
- Vendor Management: Negotiate with suppliers for best pricing, terms, and resolve order issues.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, quality standards (NABH), and regulatory guidelines.
- Staff Supervision: Train, schedule, and manage store staff for efficient operations.
- Budgeting: Monitor and manage purchasing within budgetary constraints.
