Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by accurately processing customer purchases, handling cash and electronic payments, maintaining billing accuracy, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. The cashier serves as the final point of contact with customers and contributes to overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers courteously and professionally.
- Provide a friendly and positive shopping experience.
- Respond to customer inquiries and direct customers to appropriate departments when necessary.
- Handle customer complaints politely and escalate issues to supervisors when required.
Billing and Checkout Operations
- Scan products accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Ensure correct pricing, discounts, and promotional offers are applied.
- Process transactions through cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, vouchers, and gift cards.
- Issue receipts and explain return or exchange policies when required.
- Verify age-restricted products according to company policies.
Cash Handling
- Receive and count cash accurately.
- Maintain cash drawer balance throughout the shift.
- Reconcile cash and payment transactions at the end of each shift.
- Report discrepancies immediately to supervisors.
- Follow company procedures for cash security and fraud prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Secondary (Plus Two) or equivalent.
- Diploma or certificate in Retail Management is an advantage.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to operate POS systems and billing software.

- Ability to work under pressure during peak business hours.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Basic English communication; knowledge of Hindi, Arabic, or regional languages is an advantage.
Experience
- Freshers may apply.
- 1–2 years of experience as a cashier in a supermarket, hypermarket, retail store, or similar environment is preferred.
Pay: ₹33,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
