Role Purpose
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the garment production process to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets while ensuring quality, productivity, cost efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor daily production activities.
- Achieve production targets as per the production plan.
- Manage sewing lines, manpower, and production resources.
- Ensure line balancing and optimum machine utilization.
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and production output.
- Coordinate with Cutting, Quality, Merchandising, Finishing, and Stores.
- Ensure products meet buyer quality standards.
- Reduce rework, rejection, and production losses.
- Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) and production status.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train, guide, and develop production supervisors and line leaders.
- Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and company policies.
- Prepare daily production reports and MIS.
- Control production costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely shipment by meeting delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Textile, Apparel, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in garment manufacturing.
- Minimum 3–5 years as a Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager.
