A Purchase Executive manages the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods/services to optimize costs. Key responsibilities include creating purchase orders, managing inventory levels, building vendor relationships, and analyzing market trends to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supplier Sourcing & Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, conducting market research to ensure competitive pricing.
- Procurement Process: Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and requisitions, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment terms to achieve cost savings.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, and supplier performance, preparing reports for management.
- Logistics & Compliance: Track deliveries, resolve discrepancies with vendors, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, Assistant, or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., PETPOOJA) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
