Job Title: Marine Engineer – Content Developer Department: Content Team
Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate Marine Engineer with strong sailing experience to join our Content Team. The role focuses on creating high-quality, accurate, and engaging marine engineering training content for seafarers, including e-learning modules, PPTs, and regulatory compliance materials.
The ideal candidate must combine deep maritime technical expertise with excellent content creation skills and full proficiency in modern AI tools and software. You will work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines to produce training materials aligned with the latest IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, SIRE 2.0, TMSA, MEG4, and other regulatory standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and write technically accurate marine engineering content for various training modules (Engine Room Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Cargo Systems, Automation, etc.).
- Create and update modules, course synopses, PowerPoint presentations, MCQs, case studies, and assessment materials.
- Incorporate latest regulatory references (IMO, MSC, MEPC, flag state, classification society requirements) and ensure all content is fully compliant and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and AI avatar teams to produce engaging multimedia content (including scripts for 3D videos).
- Utilize the latest AI tools.
- Demonstrate high computer literacy across all relevant software: Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint – advanced), Adobe Suite, Canva, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and maritime-specific software.
- Deliver high-quality content within tight timelines while maintaining accuracy and instructional integrity.
- Perform gap analysis of existing training materials against current regulations and industry best practices.
- Review and edit content created by junior team members or external contributors.
- Stay continuously updated with new maritime regulations, technological advancements in ship systems, and emerging training methodologies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational & Professional Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering
- Mandatory sailing experience as Junior Engineer / 2nd Engineer / Chief Engineer (or equivalent rank) on ocean-going vessels.
- Sound and practical knowledge of maritime operations, engine room management, maintenance systems, and safety protocols.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken) with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to create structured, professional training content.
- Strong proficiency in latest AI tools and prompt engineering for content creation and productivity.
- Advanced computer literacy and quick adaptability to new software platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, research skills, and ability to work under time pressure.
- Team player with good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in maritime training, e-learning content development, or technical writing.
- Familiarity with SIRE 2.0, TMSA 3, MEG4, ECDIS type-specific training, and other industry standards.
- Exposure to content development for KARCO, Seagull, or similar maritime training providers.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
