Job Summary
V7 Defence Industries Private Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Plant Head to oversee and manage the overall plant operations. The candidate will be responsible for production, manpower, machinery, quality, safety, maintenance, inventory, cost control, and timely execution of manufacturing activities.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and hands-on experience managing manufacturing or engineering plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the overall day-to-day operations of the plant.
- Plan and monitor production activities to achieve production and delivery targets.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and resources.
- Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, downtime, rejection, rework, and material wastage.
- Lead and manage engineers, supervisors, technicians, operators, and contract manpower.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement, Quality, Stores, Maintenance, HR, and other departments.
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
- Monitor and improve production processes, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and reduce rejection and rework.
- Maintain and implement plant safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Monitor material availability, inventory, consumption, and wastage.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Prepare and review plant performance and MIS reports for senior management.
- Resolve operational issues and production bottlenecks in a timely manner.
- Drive continuous improvement, productivity, quality, and cost-control initiatives.
- Maintain discipline and ensure effective manpower utilization across the plant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in plant operations, manufacturing, production, engineering, or a similar industrial environment.
- Experience in a senior plant/production management position will be preferred.
- Strong experience in managing production teams and manufacturing operations.
- Good knowledge of production planning, machinery, maintenance, quality, safety, and inventory management.

Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in engineering manufacturing, process plants, machinery manufacturing, fabrication, industrial automation, defence manufacturing, or similar industries will be preferred.
Work Environment
This is a plant-based leadership role requiring regular interaction with production teams, engineering teams, shop-floor personnel, and senior management.
