About Urbanet
Urbanet is a Kochi-based urban design firm specialising in sustainable planning, bio-climatic design, infrastructure, and heritage projects across Kerala. We work on thoughtful, context-sensitive projects that balance environmental responsibility, functionality, and design quality. We are looking for a detail-oriented Draftsperson to support our team in producing accurate and high-quality detailed drawings.
Role Overview
The Draftsperson will work closely with architects and urban designers who bring international experience, supporting them in preparing, revising, and finalising detailed drawings for projects. This is a hands-on role focused on technical accuracy, clarity of documentation, and timely delivery of drawing sets while learning from a team with diverse global exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural, urban design, and site drawings including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Develop and update drawings based on inputs and mark-ups from the design team.
- Ensure drawings follow standard drafting conventions, layer systems, and firm templates.
- Maintain accuracy in dimensions, annotations, scales, and coordination between drawings.
- Assist in preparing presentation drawings, working drawings, and submission sets as required.
- Organise and manage drawing files systematically.
- Coordinate with team members to incorporate design changes efficiently.
- Maintain quality control and consistency across drawing packages.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of architectural/urban design drawing conventions and detailing.
- Good eye for accuracy, proportions, and clean drafting standards.
- Basic understanding of building construction and site planning principles.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to project-specific requirements.
Preferred Skills (Advantageous)
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D/BIM tools.
- Exposure to sustainable design, urban design, or landscape-related drawings.
- Previous experience in an architecture or urban design office.
- Knowledge of Kerala building practices or local byelaws (helpful but not mandatory).
