Job Summary
The Junior Accountant supports the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end accounting activities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual looking to develop a career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements and account balances.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on payments.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and tax regulations.
- Assist with payroll processing and expense reimbursements as required.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, Oracle, or ERP systems).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
