We are looking for an enthusiastic and persuasive Telecounselor to join our study abroad consultancy. You will be the first point of contact for students aspiring to study overseas — guiding them through course options, university choices, and the application process via phone, while converting inquiries into successful admissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls from prospective students and parents interested in studying abroad
- Counsel students on suitable courses, universities, and countries (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, etc.) based on their profile and budget
- Explain eligibility criteria, application process, costs, scholarships, and visa requirements clearly and accurately
- Follow up consistently with leads generated through digital campaigns, walk-ins, events, and referrals
- Schedule and confirm counseling appointments with senior counselors/branch
- Maintain and update lead and call details in CRM/database accurately and on time
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly call and conversion targets
- Coordinate with the documentation and visa processing team for end-to-end follow-through
- Resolve student queries related to IELTS/PTE/TOEFL, application status, and visa process
- Build trust and long-term rapport with students and parents throughout their journey
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (Arts, Commerce, or Education background preferred)
- 0–2 years of experience in telecalling, counseling, BPO, or sales (study abroad/education sector experience is a plus, freshers are welcome)
- Basic awareness of international education systems, popular study destinations, and visa processes is an advantage
- Comfortable using MS Office and CRM/lead management tools
- Fluent in English and Hindi/Punjabi; additional language skills are a bonus
- Clear, confident telephone communication and good listening skills
Attitude & Personal Qualities We're Looking For
- Empathetic listener — genuinely interested in understanding a student's goals and concerns
- Persuasive, not pushy — builds trust through honest, ethical counseling rather than pressure tactics
- Patient and resilient — stays positive through repetitive queries, objections, and occasional rejection
- Goal-driven and self-motivated — consistently works toward call and conversion targets
- Detail-oriented — accurate with data entry, follow-ups, and documentation timelines
- Professional phone manner — warm, confident, and well-spoken
- Organized with strong time management — juggles multiple leads and follow-ups efficiently
- Coachable team player — open to feedback and willing to learn evolving country/visa policies
- Adaptable — comfortable keeping up with frequently changing university intakes and requirements
