Job Summary
Bharat Data Center is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to support and maintain our data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with server hardware, Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and data center operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain physical servers, storage systems, and network devices.
- Perform server installation, rack & stack, cabling, and de-racking activities.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues related to servers, RAM, disks, RAID controllers, power supplies, and network equipment.
- Install and administer Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Monitor infrastructure using tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and escalation as per defined SLAs.
- Manage remote access technologies such as iDRAC, iLO, and IPMI.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and health checks of servers and data center equipment.
- Maintain documentation related to infrastructure and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Linux Administration (CentOS, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian).
- Understanding of server hardware, RAID, storage, and virtualization technologies.
- Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, Routing, and Switching.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, or Virtualizor.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of data center operations, power systems, cooling infrastructure, and cabling standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Data Center, Cloud, Hosting, or ISP environment.
- Exposure to enterprise server and storage infrastructure.
- Understanding of incident management and SLA-driven operations.
