About the Role
Maxtech Industries LLP is looking for an experienced Cage Unit Manager to lead our manufacturing operations for filter cages and fabricated wire products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in production management, fabrication processes, quality systems, procurement, and team leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring on-time production, high product quality, cost optimization, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the complete operations of the Cage Manufacturing Unit.
Plan, schedule, and monitor production to meet customer delivery commitments.
Manage procurement of raw materials, welding consumables, tooling, and develop reliable vendors.
Optimize product costing, BOMs, and manufacturing processes to improve profitability.
Establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials, in-process inspection, and final product inspection.
Develop and implement SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality documentation.
Plan preventive maintenance and coordinate machine breakdown maintenance.
Design and improve tooling, jigs, and fixtures to enhance productivity and consistency.
Manage subcontractors and job-work activities to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
Control inventory, material planning, and production resources efficiently.
Monitor production KPIs such as productivity, rejection, rework, machine utilization, and on-time delivery.
Lead, train, and develop production supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor operators.
Coordinate with Sales, Design, Planning, Procurement, and Dispatch teams to meet customer requirements.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to welding, dimensional accuracy, wire forming, coatings, and product fitment.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
8–15 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, wire products, filter cages, resistance welding, or similar manufacturing industries.
Proven experience in managing production teams and manufacturing operations.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Resistance Welding, MIG Welding, TIG Welding, Wire Forming, and Sheet Metal Fabrication.
Experience in designing and improving jigs, fixtures, and production tooling.
Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documents.
Hands-on knowledge of QA/QC systems, root cause analysis, CAPA, and inspection techniques.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, and inventory management.
Understanding of costing, BOM management, manufacturing KPIs, and process optimization.
Good knowledge of vendor development, procurement, and commercial negotiations.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Continuous improvement mindset with experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
