JOB DESCRIPTION – ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MST)
Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Reports To: General Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Engineering Technician is responsible for the maintenance and smooth functioning of all hotel facilities, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, rooftop, and back-of-house equipment remain in excellent working condition. The technician should have sound knowledge of air conditioning systems, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and general repair work.
Key ResponsibilitiesAir Conditioning (Mandatory)
- Diagnose and repair split ACs, cassette ACs, and VRV/VRF systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
- Clean AC filters, coils, and drainage lines.
- Monitor refrigerant levels and report major repairs.
Plumbing (Mandatory)
- Repair leaking taps, flush systems, pipelines, and valves.
- Install and maintain sanitary fittings.
- Clear drainage blockages and water leakage issues.
- Ensure uninterrupted hot and cold water supply throughout the hotel.
Electrical Maintenance
- Replace lights, switches, sockets, MCBs, and electrical fixtures.
- Maintain electrical panels and distribution boards.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in guest rooms and public areas.
- Maintain emergency lighting and backup power systems.
General Maintenance
- Carry out carpentry, painting, polishing, and minor civil repairs.
- Repair locks, door closers, furniture, and fixtures.
- Maintain signage, railings, windows, and glass fittings.
- Ensure all guest room equipment is in proper working condition.
Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance work.
Guest Support
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance complaints.
- Minimize downtime and ensure quick resolution of issues.
- Coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping to return rooms to inventory quickly.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all hotel safety procedures and engineering SOPs.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Report major equipment failures immediately.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and fire safety standards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Air Conditioning systems.
- Strong knowledge of Plumbing work.
- Basic Electrical troubleshooting.
- Basic Carpentry and Civil maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and solve maintenance issues independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in hotel, resort, or commercial building maintenance.
- Experience in hospitality engineering is preferred.
Salary Range
Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 25,000 per month (depending on experience and technical skills).
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
