The Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and issuing materials, ensuring proper storage of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods, and supporting production through timely material availability. The role requires strict adherence to inventory control procedures, safety standards, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantity and quality against purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and maintain proper documentation.
- Issue raw materials, consumables, and tools to production against authorized requisitions.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the purchase department about reorder requirements.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, and storage of all materials.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Accounts departments for inventory-related activities.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety standards in the store.
- Handle scrap, rejected, and return materials as per company procedures.
- Prepare inventory reports, stock statements, and MIS reports.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate or Diploma in any discipline (B.Com preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience as a Storekeeper in a manufacturing or engineering industry.
- Experience in steel, fabrication, or heavy engineering industries is preferred.
