About Modmacon
Modmacon creates high-quality stylized and mobile game art for global studios. We’re expanding our internal production team and looking for a Technical Artist who can build polished, atmospheric scenes directly inside Unreal Engine.
Role Overview
You will bring stylized environments to life in Unreal Engine using lighting, materials, Niagara effects, and clean scene setups. Your work will directly define the visual mood, performance, and final rendered quality of our environments.
Key Requirements
Create lighting setups that support the project’s stylized direction. Build atmospheric elements such as sky, fog, volumetrics, particles, and weather effects.
Develop and refine materials and shaders for stylized rendering. Assemble full scene setups with proper lighting, VFX, post-process, and technical settings.
Work with Level Sequencer (basic camera and shot setup). Ensure all assets integrate smoothly and maintain visual consistency.
Optimize lighting, materials, and effects for real-time performance. Troubleshoot visual, shader, and performance issues.
Prepare scenes for internal reviews and final renders.
Required Skills Strong artistic sense: colour, contrast, composition, and mood.
Confident with Unreal Engine tools: Niagara, Lumen, Post Process, Material Editor Sequencer.
Ability to turn creative direction into high-quality in-engine visuals.
Good communication and teamwork skills. Technical problem-solving for rendering and performance. Good to Have
Experience with stylized art workflows. Familiarity with preparing environments for cinematic rendering.
