Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Sales Manager - OEM Business to drive sales growth and expand our customer base for precision optical components and related engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in OEM sales, key account management, tender business, and customer relationship development within industrial or technology-driven sectors.
This role requires a strategic sales professional capable of identifying new business opportunities, managing existing OEM accounts, handling PSU and private sector tenders, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities
OEM Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire and grow OEM customers across targeted industries.
- Identify new business opportunities and establish relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and engineering stakeholders.
- Drive revenue growth through direct sales of precision optical components and customized solutions.
Key Account Management
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing OEM customers to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Understand customer requirements and provide technical-commercial solutions aligned with their applications.
- Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews.
Tender & Proposal Management
- Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of tenders for PSU, defense, research institutions, and private sector organizations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and compliant bid submissions.
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts to maximize business opportunities.
Market Development & Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Develop strategies to increase market penetration and brand visibility.
- Monitor industry developments in optics, photonics, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting
- Achieve assigned sales targets and profitability objectives.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and customer databases.
- Present monthly business reviews and sales performance reports to management.
Marketing & Customer Engagement
- Support marketing initiatives including exhibitions, trade shows, technical seminars, and product launches.
- Work closely with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and customer engagement programs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Provide customer feedback to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Optical Engineering, Photonics, or related field) or Business Administration.
- MBA in Marketing or Sales will be an added advantage.
Experience & Skills
- 6+ years of experience in OEM Sales, Business Development, or Key Account Management.
- Proven experience in industrial products, precision components, optical components, photonics, electronics, or engineering solutions.
- Strong experience handling PSU, Government, Defense, Research Institution, and Private Sector tenders.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and developing strategic customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and technical understanding of engineering products.
- Ability to travel extensively for customer meetings and business development activities.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting systems.
