The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer in an interior fit-out company specializing in corporate projects is responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and supervising MEP systems. This role ensures the seamless integration of MEP services into the fit-out process, adhering to project requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Planning:
- Develop detailed designs for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, tailored to corporate fit-out projects.
- Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure MEP integration without conflicts.
- Conduct load calculations and equipment selection for MEP systems.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and project managers to align MEP designs with project goals.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure proper execution of MEP works.
- Site Supervision:
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of MEP systems on-site, ensuring compliance with approved designs and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all MEP systems comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Prepare and review documentation for permits and approvals.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues during the project lifecycle.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in preparing MEP budgets and cost estimates.
- Monitor expenses related to MEP systems and ensure cost control.
- Testing and Commissioning:
- Plan and execute testing and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure functionality and performance.
- Prepare reports and handover documentation for completed systems.
- Maintenance Support:
- Provide guidance on maintenance requirements for MEP systems post-completion.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and manuals for client reference.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience:
- 7 years of experience as an MEP Engineer in the interior fit-out industry, with a focus on corporate office projects.
- Hands-on experience in managing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MEP design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software).
- Strong understanding of corporate office MEP requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
