Technical Delivery Architect is a senior technical role responsible for governing the quality and integrity of the Athena platform across its most critical engineering workstreams — data migration, system integrations, application quality and platform architecture. This person sets and enforces the technical bar, ensures alignment with GE Vernova architectural standards, and works collaboratively alongside the delivery partner to drive execution. They are equally comfortable governing at a strategic level and contributing directly to technical problem-solving when the situation demands it.
Athena is GE Vernova Electrification's strategic platform transformation program, replacing ServiceMax with a custom-built, in-house field service management application. The program spans the electrifications business lines with a go-live target of Q4 2027. Athena is built on pillars of tailored features, modern technology, enhanced UX, and AI-readiness, delivered through a hybrid waterfall/agile methodology in close collaboration with a key delivery partner.

- Govern application architecture across the Athena platform, ensuring all technical decisions align with GE Vernova standards, security requirements, and CTO/ASRB frameworks
- Act as the GEV technical authority on the program — reviewing and challenging vendor partner's architectural outputs and escalating concerns where required
- Maintain a clear and current view of the technical landscape, flagging risks and dependencies to the Program Manager proactively
- Maintain a living inventory of all satellite applications currently in use across the four business lines, including unofficial tools, shadow IT, and point solutions identified during discovery
- Assess each application against defined criteria (usage, criticality, data overlap, integration complexity) to inform strategic disposition decisions
- Define and own the long-term architecture vision for how Athena relates to each satellite app — whether to absorb (build native functionality), integrate (maintain a live connection), or decommission (retire in favour of Athena)
- Ensure disposition decisions are made deliberately and documented, with clear rationale, stakeholder sign-off, and an indicative timeline
- Act as the architectural authority on these decisions, escalating to the Program Manager where trade-offs require broader alignment
- Own and lead the data migration workstream, defining the overall approach, quality framework, and governance model from strategy through to go-live
- Set data quality standards and acceptance criteria, ensuring these are embedded into testing and validation activities across the program lifecycle
- Provide direction and oversight to the dedicated data migration resource, maintaining clear accountability for workstream progress and escalating risks to the Program Manager as required
- Own the integrations workstream — establishing the way of working, defining integration requirements, and governing technical design and delivery end-to-end
- Ensure integration solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with the broader Athena architecture and GEV enterprise standards
- Provide direction and oversight to the dedicated integrations resource, coordinating across GEV and vendor partner to ensure delivery, testing, and sign-off milestones are met
- Present technical plans, progress, and risks clearly to the Program Manager and, where required, to senior stakeholders — translating complex technical detail into accessible, decision-ready communication
- Maintain up-to-date delivery documentation and contribute to program governance reporting
- Act as a collaborative bridge between GEV DT, vendor partner, and the wider GEV architecture and security communities
